We offer one-on-one classes, studio time, and community events designed to inspire and support your sewing journey. Whether you're a beginner, a cosplay enthusiast, or an experienced sewist, this home away from home provides the tools, guidance, and community to help you succeed.

Founded by Raeven K, we’re passionate about teaching the art of sewing to sewists of all skill levels: complete beginners, seasoned sewists, cosplay enthusiasts, or lovers of all things handmade.

At That’s Sew Austin, we offer a variety of ways to dive into sewing and connect with the community:

  • One on one Classes – Learn everything from beginner basics to advanced techniques in a welcoming, hands-on environment. Get personalized instruction tailored to your skill level and project goals.

  • Specialty Events – Join us for our themed monthly Community Events crafted to spark creativity and inspire meaningful connection. Looking for something more personal? Host a Private Group Event to celebrate any special occasion. No experience needed, these are designed for all skill levels!

  • Studio Time – Need a place to sew? Rent a fully equipped station and work on your projects in a supportive, creative space.

Our studio boasts five sewing stations, a serger, irons, and all the tools you need to make your projects shine.

Our classes are available during our open hours: 12-9 pm Tuesday-Saturday and 12-7 pm Sunday. Our events normally run weekly. Check out our event calendar to find your next favorite workshop or themed event.

To secure your spot, we recommend booking at least a week in advance. Teacher calendars and events fill up fast, so don’t wait!

There is plenty of free street parking nearby on Comal Street. We are appointment only. You can also find us on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest to get a behind-the-scenes look at our community.
